Welcome to Kindergarten!

Dear Kindergarten Families,

Welcome to the North Penn School District! We are thrilled that your child will soon begin their kindergarten journey with us. Starting kindergarten is a special milestone filled with excitement, growth, and new experiences, and we are honored to partner with your family during this important time.

At North Penn, we believe that strong relationships between home and school help children thrive. As your child prepares to join one of our 13 elementary schools, we want to ensure that you feel informed, supported, and excited for the year ahead. Below, you'll find information about several opportunities designed to help your family prepare for a successful start to kindergarten.

Kindergarten Readiness Tips

Throughout the summer, families can receive weekly kindergarten readiness tips delivered directly to their phone and/or email. These simple suggestions are designed to support important skills and help make the transition to kindergarten a positive and successful one.

Kindergarten Orientation Day

To provide our teachers with time for professional learning while also supporting a developmentally appropriate transition for our youngest learners, North Penn will host Kindergarten Orientation Day on Monday, August 31, 2026.

Kindergarten students and up to two adult guests will be invited to visit their elementary school and meet the K team at an assigned time. Invitation and scheduling information will be sent directly by your child’s home school.

During this one hour visit, children will have the opportunity to become familiar with their new school, meet the K team, and begin building confidence for their first day. Families will have time to ask questions and learn more about what to expect throughout the school year. Our goal is for every child to feel comfortable, excited, and ready to begin kindergarten independently on the first full day of school.

We are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, growth, and discovery. Thank you for choosing North Penn. We cannot wait to welcome your family into our school community and begin this exciting journey together. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We hope you enjoy a fun, relaxing summer.

With excitement and appreciation,
